Dogwood Senior Health Center specializes in the behavioral health care of adults 55 years of age and older. A qualified team of medical professional including a psychiatrist, family practitioner, social worker, and mental health nurses design an individualized treatment plan to meet the needs of each patient. The Center is a 12-bed secured facility providing acute care and treatment for senior adults experiencing: Depression Anxiety Bipolar Disorder Schizophrenia Psychosis Paranoia Hallucinations Delusions Alzheimer's / dementia with behavioral changes Suicidal ideation or attempt Behaviors putting the individual at risk of harm to themselves or others Dogwood Senior Health Center Offers: Comprehensive medical and psychological evaluation Individualized treatment plans Individual, group, and family therapy Coping and life training skills Activity therapy groups Medication management and education Individualized continuing care plan for discharged patients and their families Patients participate with a group of peers who are similar in age and life experiences. Families are included in the therapeutic process. Aftercare planning is also provided to maintain improvement made in treatment. Each patient has a treatment team of medical and clinical professionals who work together to pinpoint the nature of the problem. Each patient has a psychiatrist as well as a medical doctor to address both the mental and physical issues the individual may be experiencing. Dogwood Senior Health Center puts an emphasis on family involvement. Family members are encouraged to attend weekly family conferences. These conferences give the family, patient, and staff the opportunity to sit down and discuss the individual's progress in treatment, and give the family the opportunity to ask any questions they may have. Daily visiting hours are available.
