Joe Morgan, MD
Dr. Morgan is in private practice as the founder of Valdosta Psychiatric Associates in Valdosta, Georgia. Dr. Morgan maintains a faculty appointment at the Medical College of Georgia. He attended Valdosta State College and received his undergraduate degree with a major in biology. He completed a master's degree at the University of Georgia (School of Veterinary Medicine).
After serving as a research assistant at the Medical College of Georgia in the Department of Physiology, Dr. Morgan attended medical school there and received his medical degree in 1987. He completed an internship in the Department of Medicine and completed his residency in the Department of Psychiatry at the Medical College of Georgia. He joined the faculty at the Medical College of Georgia as an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry. He entered private practice in 1995. In February of 2005, Dr. Morgan was selected "Psychiatrist of the Year" in Georgia by the Georgia Psychiatric Physicians' Association. Dr. Morgan is a Distinguish Fellow with the American Psychiatric Association for his contributions in psychiatry. Dr. Morgan is a past President of the Georgia Psychiatric Physicians' Association. Dr. Morgan is a speaker or consultant for over 10 pharmaceutical companies, and he is Chief of Medical Services at Smith Northview Hospital, and on staff at Berrien County Hospital, and Parkwood Development Center. Dr. Morgan is the Medical Director for Dogwood Senior Health Center in Nashville. Dr. Morgan is Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. |
